  1. First 3 books, this is the “generic” series that has that type of mc which can get very annoying.

Plot is good ngl, maybe theres a popularity for writers to make an mc that just repeating the same mistake over and over and over AND making a stone headed character that wont listen to the side characters.

    1. I have to agree with you that she acts fairly annoying near the beginning. Though, I feel like the series does a great job showing her growing up and learning to work with others more. Personally, I feel like that begins to happen after the first volume, but more noticeably in part 2.

    2. I understand where you come from but I still disagree with some of your points. I agree that Part 1(vol 1 to 3) is very typical isekai stuff with our MC trying to adapt to the new circumstances around them, making connections with the inhabitants and introducing some makertable products from the modern world and for some people this could end up boring to read. But for me the main drive to read and revisit Part 1 is the emotional moments that are spread over the story but you will problably miss them because you don’t have the context from Part 2 and 3, specially the scene when Ferdiand use that magic tool on Myne and all the premisse behind Part 3 and even her reckless behaviour on Part 1 has a plausible explanation but most people miss that because of Myne’s cheerful, optimistic and naive behaviour but that is also the fact that half of her screentime is her gushing out about how much she want to read books, which frankly can get pretty annoying sometimes. But when we start to see the things from Urano’s perspective all this becomes much more clear, since she basically lost her friends, family and dream, before the earthquake is show that she had a pretty positive relationship with her mother and childhood friend(and even later in the series is told that she had other friends outside this one), she had finished college and was days away of starting to work on her dream job, being a librarian on her university and all of this is taken away from her plus all of the benifits of modern technology and her personal raison d’etre(aka books) is also taken away from her. Now she is in the body of a sick child in a medieval society even before she is given the time limit of 1 year to live on volume 3 Urano knows that she could die at any moment and this is why she is so reckless on Part 1 and only on Part 2 when she found a solution to her illness she start to be more careful because now what matters for her is the long term consequences of her actions. Frankly I could go on and on about how the memories of the Old Myne affect her realtionship with her new family and Lutz, how well integrated is Benno role in the story, how the Lower City contributes to the story and a bunch of other things because I’m a huge fanboy of this novel.

      1. Oh wow, i didnt get an email notification about the replies, i was just ‘wandering’ around.

        Spoiler

Sooooo, yes, ik some people may disagree with it cuz the mc is a maniac, she’ll do everything for books.
I just hope the author could hide her ignorance a bit better, cuz she’s exploiting the ‘she is a bookworm that will do everything for books as the title says’ reason.

Like, let’s say Goblin Slayer, he ‘mostly’ hunts goblins, yes, but he still do other things for the sake of story progression. (This is just for comparing the first few books, not the whole series)

And, im too lazy to write another review, tldr my other complaints are how wilfried just got taken to the sacred tower without anyone noticing, and the overused kidnapping for climaxes. It’s been used 2 times, i wont let it pass the 3rd.

And about the plot, it was kind of well-structured. The pacing on how things escalated wasnt too fast either, kind of rushed when she was going to be a BS Maiden tho, only that.

The plot only lacking rozemyne’s workshop in the story, maybe include it more in the bonus story section. I’m missing the paper-making grind here.

and and i cant wait for another ferdinand or maybe syl this time diving into (roze)myne’s memories.
        It’s a promise.

        1. I don’t really agree on too many of the points you make, but I’ll concede that it’s probably simply because of how much of a fanboy of the series I am that I get all defensive when people point out flaws in it. I’m glad you spoke more on it since I thought you were making a judgement on the whole series based just off the first part. I do have to agree that another memory dive scene would be super awesome, it’s definitely one of my favorite scenes in the whole series.
