My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me!

Synopsis

Awaking to absolute chaos and carnage while on a school trip, Yogiri Takatou discovers that everyone in his class has been transported to another world! He had somehow managed to sleep through the entire ordeal himself, missing out on the Gift — powers bestowed upon the others by a mysterious Sage who appeared to transport them. Even worse, he and another classmate were ruthlessly abandoned by their friends, left as bait to distract a nearby dragon. Although not terribly bothered by the thought of dying, he reluctantly decides to protect his lone companion. After all, a lowly Level 1000 monster doesn’t stand a chance against his secret power to invoke Instant Death with a single thought! If he can stay awake long enough to bother using it, that is…

  1. I just tried both downloads for the new Vol 1 Premium and they both tell me that the archive is broken so i can’t unzip the fire

    1. use a different zip software or something? i just tried and it works, so i’m not sure what the issue is.

      1. That’s very wierd, it extracted just fine in the downloads folder but failed to extract after I cut and pasted the archive into the folder that I wanted it to be…this is the first time i have seen this kind of problem before

  2. The epub file for volume 6 is broken, when I open the file it says “the e-book is incomplete and cannot be opened”.

      1. Yes to both.

I don’t honestly know what is wrong, I have tried both links, downloaded and extracted it multiple times, but every time I try to open the epub file, the same error occurs.

These problems have only occurred with volume 6, though a few parts of the other volumes were a bit broken as well, the epub file was at least usable with them.

        1. Perhaps it’s an issue with your ebook reader? Try one of the programs in the FAQ? I checked the book but it doesn’t seem to have any issues. In events like this, there’s a possibility of either your epub reader is incompatible, unzipping software is incompatible, or perhaps even your download is incomplete. Difficult for me to troubleshoot when I don’t see any issue with the ebook on my end.

          1. Alright, it seems to be working with Microsoft Edge atleast, this series is the only one my default epub reader has problems with,

The other ones I have downloaded and that worked without problems are:
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody
            Muscles are Better Than Magic!
So I’m a Spider, So What?
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

That’s why I’m wondering what is it about this series that causes problems.

            1. Honestly, I can’t say. I looked into the internal structure of the ebook but it looks fine, nothing weird pops out. Unless someone points me in the right direction, I have no way of “fixing” this issue. I even tested it on GooglePlayBooks and it works.

    1. I have now read all three available volumes, and I must say so far I like it.
The world here is even more absurd than in “Nee-chan wa Chuunibyou”. The setting itself is cleary satire – it’s not a straight-up parody, but you can’t really take it seriously. That’s not really a bad thing, though.
This series basically has no stakes. It’s all about enjoying the crazy shit the author comes up with, and for me that’s alright. People with other expectations for this novel might not enjoy it that much.

I recommend this LN series to those who want an absurdist fantasy setting with ridiculous powers and who are ok with the MC having no enemies in the world – he’s basically a Lovecraftian Outer God crammed into an (extremely detached) Japanese high school student. (I hope we eventually learn where he came from.)

    2. Volume 8 of instant death mentioned how a beast god in their homeworld was slain which probably talks about the MC from Neechan Chuunibyou
