Synopsis
Name’s Inori Takafuji. I’m not really much of a “go-getter,” if you catch my drift—sleep’s more my style—but getting summoned to another world kinda messed things up. Bit hard to chill when you’ve got a king in your face telling you there’s a bad guy you’ve gotta go slay or whatever, you know? Plot twist, though—it’s actually not so bad. Getting the hero treatment sounds pretty nice, right? But then it happens again! Some other clown summons me, I get my obligatory superpower, and off I go. And sure, that’s fine. It happens, sometimes you get isekai’d to the wrong place. But then it happens AGAIN! Someone ELSE summons me, I get ANOTHER superpower, and then I’m somewhere totally new. Repeat ad nauseam. All right, goddess, where to next? And lemme just say this—the next time I get summoned better be my last, because I am so over this!

but roughly halfway through the book the protagonist suddenly turns into a literal sociopath and starts torturing people, mostly women, to death for fun. The shift was sudden, disorienting and IMHO very off putting. By the end I realized there is NO ‘good guy’ in the book, just variations of evil.
I will not be reading any more in the series.
Well, I thought it would be a goofy isekai comedy. Never have I erred in my judgement so much. The novel turned out to be quite dark. The MC is a ruthless sociopath. It was somewhat refreshing to see such an MC after reading a lot of novels that feature spineless wimps as protagonists. However, the other characters are still plain and cliched. On the whole, the novel was a bit trashy, but I enjoyed it.
The premise sounds really fun. Sadly, the main character just suddenly becomes an unlikeable psychopath seemingly in one moment.
Even Redo of a Healer had more likeable MC and he was sadist and rapist for gods’ sake…
If you aren’t into following a pure chaotic evil main character, move on.
This novel just feels like a mess to me. The Protag says he wants to do one thing then when the opposite happens he literally goes oh well that was the plan anyway only for him to literally flip again for no real reason. It feels like the author is trying way to hard to write a dark and edgy while still trying to have him be somewhat likable character only to end up with something muddled as the character just comes off a psychopath with no real redeeming qualities.
This novel is damn good. I will continue reading this.
