Synopsis

“I’m going to live for myself!”
The greatest assassin on Earth knew only how to live as a tool for his employers—until they stopped letting him live. Reborn by the grace of a goddess into a world of swords and sorcery, he’s offered a chance to do things differently this time around, but there’s a catch…He has to eliminate a super-powerful hero who will bring about the end of the world unless he is stopped. Now known as Lugh Tuatha Dé, the master assassin certainly has his hands full, particularly because of all the beautiful girls who constantly surround him. Lugh may have been an incomparable killer, but how will he fare against foes with powerful magic?

  1. Found what look like a typo in volume 6:

Diamonds were worth very much here, however.
(correction) = Diamonds weren’t worth very much here, however.

The translator must have made a copying error, otherwise the sentence does not make sense with the description of the novel.
(Explicitly said that diamounds aren’t expensive in the other world.)

  2. My god, it went downhill after volume 2. Theres so much wrong with this series. It started decent, and dropped to such a mess; unstructured and inconsistency in the plot, the magic stuff also went from manipulating mana to being immortal unless youre attacked by a mixture of 5 magics which is almost impossible to do unless youre the hero that can do it unconsciously and unknowingly cuz youre the “Hero”.

Thats why most fantasy (magic) series ends up being a complete bs. Some authors actually respected the concept of magic and did their best to not overturn the whole thing like Faraway Paladin, Goblin Slayer, Hell Mode, Honzuki no Gekokujou (Even a goddamn slice of life series respected the concept of magic ffs). Or at least, if you want to make an overpowered character, simplify the magic system like Campfire Cooking and that Cleric novel did. Making/using guns is still in the safe zone for me, but that mixing 5 magic to kill an enemy “is an overkill” to just kill a single enemy.

Anyway, the 3rd and 4th volume was so overly and unnecessarily sexualized, i get it the author is the same guy who wrote that popular semi-H anime, but he ruined it for sexualizing it later. Do it since the first volume ffs, so i can pass it as ‘normal’.

Any COD player here? The use of WMD (Weapons of Mass Desteuction) hyped me so much. It feels like getting a Nuke KS. I felt so betrayed (not like I bought it lol, thx Jowy and donators).

Its so fd up, its like “Her Majesty’s Swarm”.
I havent posted my review yet, its painful to see an author ruining their MC (HMS, not this series).

    1. The reductionist concept behind the arriving at “mixing of 5 magic” was already explored back in the first volume where the magic language was decoded into alphabet and letter to be re-arranged using spell weaver. Conceptually if there are no special constrains like the special element ratio, any one or group of people in the world could have taken down the demon king if skilled/strong enough. Similarly this was applied to explain the circumstance where only hero can kill the demon. Possible constrain on why only the hero can take down the demon king will be either in a specific skill granted to hero, or some other factors which was the specific magic combination that negates demon’s regeneration.
It was mentioned in a interview with the author that he was more 理系 over 文系, rather then leaving the reasoning of why only the hero can kill the demon king to be vague and uncertain, the reductionism approach he takes pinpoints the exact fundamentals.

    2. If youre that adversed to sexuality i bet youre also one of the people hating on mushoku tensei. Please stick to your own casual isekai stories then, will you?
The magic system isn’t the primary factor why this is so good anyway, its the character, or rather the mc that is unlike in many other books able to truly thing ahead as well as the amazing plot.
So you were dissapointed that the “weapon of mass destruction” wasn’t on a nuklear scale? What are you? 13? And how would that serve the plot..? Grow up already and stop hating on one of my favourite light novel series.

      1. a ‘nuke’ that cant even kill a non hero character. a very logical approach isnt it? considering its not even on vol 5 yet, i can see how broken the characters will be. but its still a fantasy ig. people can do whatever they wanted

  3. Its infuriating when a novel with decent plot has bad characters.

Also the magic stuff in this series is bs. Idk why “mating” can be an efficient way to transfer someone’s ‘Mana’ to another.

    1. Make your own .mobi file. Download Calibre and add the epub file to calibre. Then right click -> convert to .mobi

You can probably get more in-depth guides if you google.

  4. Same dude that wrote redo of healer right? I hope things are just as edgy and trashy lol, cuz while sure that series is pretty trash it’s fine in such a funny way I can’t stop enjoying it lol.

Well here’s to hoping this is the same.
