To Another World… with Land Mines!

Synopsis

“Hey! I’m an evil god, but I’m not actually evil!” Those were the first words I heard in the afterlife. My name’s Naofumi Kamiya, and my entire class died in a tragic bus accident. The god told my classmates that he would transport all of us to a dangerous new world, but he created skills for us on request, so maybe he was actually a good god? That’s what I thought at first, anyway. But when it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I feel bad for my classmates who thought that gimmicky skills would make them invincible. I mean, the god did warn them that there were no cheat skills! Oh well. As for myself, I’m enjoying my life with my childhood friends, putting safety first and staying out of trouble. After all, this world might seem like a game, but it’s not. It’s reality.

  1. Found what look like a typo in volume 4 premium:

Then there definitely is an orc nest in the words.
(correction) = Then there definitely is an orc nest in the woods.

And want to say I enjoyed this novel. Much more steady and measured than the typical isekai/fantasy setting.

    1. You realize that these are just copies of the official releases and that there is no point in pointing out corrections here right?

  2. First: the landmines are figurative. The class is given the chance to pick ‘cheat’ skills, but all of them have severe prices. Like the 2x EXP needing 10x EXP to level up(don’t remember the exact number). Or a skill that makes you never ‘feel’ drunk, but doesn’t prevent the effects of alcohol on your body, so you’ll think you are fine until you drop dead from drinking too much.
Second: the main group are all characters who avoided the ‘land mines’, so they only occasionally come up when you hear about other classmates.
Overall, it’s a very slow burn, isekai, slice-of-life without any particularly exciting events.

      1. I think the world building is nicely done.
The skill and magic system is well thought out and progresses at a nice pace.
There isn’t an annoying character in the main group at all and only those classmates with “landmine” skills tend to be off kilter, but they’re only here and there as, well, the detriments (that they don’t realize they have) are quite severe.
The story for me at least, is incredibly enjoyable to read and I really like the main MC’s (of which there are 5 in the party and a couple really good supporting characters too).
This would be one of my favorite reads from the novels on this site.

  3. Its a very generic story nothing uncommon and same thing goes on forever. Author unnecessarily increased the story talking about every minute stuff rather than focussing on story developement.
